Transformers Blu-ray pre-orders open

Originally released as an HD DVD exclusive, Transformers remains one of the best looking high-definition movies available, and one of the best reasons to own an HD DVD player. Blu-ray owners will be pleased to hear Amazon has started taking pre-orders of the Blu-ray release in preparation for its September 2 release date. List price is the usual $39.99, and Amazon has responded by knocking 30% off, bringing it to a respectable $27.95.
