Samsung announce the $800 HT-BD2E Blu-ray home-theater-in-a-box

Samsung have announced the cheapest Blu-ray home-theater-in-a-box (HTIB) yet - the $800 HT-BD2E. The tech specs aren’t jaw dropping, and with no HDMI inputs to be seen, there’s little room for future upgrades - but you can’t argue with the price.

• 5.1 channels with 800 watts total
• HDMI output
• 1080p upconversion of DVDs
• 2x optical inputs
• Ethernet port for firmware updates
• Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD High Resolution decoding

The HT-BD2E will be available in August.
